The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the Narmada Residential Complex comprising of Type II & Type III quarters for the staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan and a new branch of Indian Bank at President’s Estate today (June 3, 2017).
The Narmada Residential Complex in Block No. 13 of President’s Estate has 40 Type-II and 20 Type-III quarters meant for staff of the President’s Secretariat. The special features of these units include rain water harvesting, use of energy efficient LED lights, recycling of waste water, use of fly ash bricks in partitioning walls and solar water heating etc. An underground sump provides for utilization of sewage treated water in parks and flushing system of water closets. The facade of quarters is as per Rashtrapati Bhavan architectural features like cornice/columns/chhajjas etc. The Complex is fully in accordance with Green Building parameters laid down by the Ministry of Urban Development. These quarters are constructed under the redevelopment scheme of President’s Estate. On the occasion, the President presented keys of quarters to 15 allottees.
The new branch of Indian Bank which is the 2679th branch of the Bank is located in the Shopping Complex of the President’s Estate. It will cater to the financial needs of the residents. The branch has got an e-banking lounge with 24 x 7 ATM, BNA and Pass Book prinking facilities. This branch also provides free wi-fi facilities for its customers besides offering all other banking products and services.
