The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjeeinaugurated a Mega Food Park at Jangipur, Murshidabad, West Bengal today (August 24, 2016).
Speaking on the occasion,the President saidthat if more such projects come out, India would be able to minimise the wastage of food products. He hoped that the Jangipur Mega Food Park will help farmers of the area get better price for their produce.
The Mega Food Park offers facilities such as developed plots for large units, ready sheds with plug and play facility for SMEs and standard design factories with plug and play facility for small enterprises. It is equipped with infrastructural facilities like wide, well paved and illuminated roads with drainage, 33 KV power sub-station, ample amount of treated water, storage capacity of one million litres, solid and liquid effluent collection, common treatment plant, solid waste disposal facility and bio conversion of organic wastes.
