A group of 25 officer trainees of Indian Audit and Accounts Service (2012 Batch) called on the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee today (February 26, 2013) at Rashtrapati Bhavan. These officers are presently undergoing an 89 weeks professional training at the National Academy of Audit and Accounts, Shimla.
Speaking on the occasion, the President said optimal use of public money and public resources is critical for achieving our nation's developmental goals and inclusive growth. This should duly and invariably take into account the best interests of Government and the people of India - in whose name the expenditure is being incurred.
The Officer Trainees of the 2012 Batch of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service joined the National Academy of Audit and Accounts, Shimla on 17 December 2012. The batch comprises of 21 Officer Trainees selected through the Civil Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and 2 Officer Trainees each from Supreme Audit Institutions of Nepal and Bhutan. Among the 25 Officer Trainees, 7 are women.
